Archives for December 2011

Can you believe that it’s almost Christmas? ¬†To any of my readers that don’t celebrate that particular holiday – can you believe that it’s almost 2012? ūüôā ¬†I certainly can’t…so much still to do! ¬†I haven’t been feeling particularly festive this year. ¬†We didn’t put up our tree. ¬†That decision has to do with the simple fact that we are doing some room re-arranging in January, and the room where the big tree normally goes is getting a fresh coat of paint during the week immediately after Christmas. ¬†I was feeling particularly lazy on the day that I decided that I didn’t want to put up a tree only to take it down again the day after the holiday. ¬†Bah humbug and all that, right?

I’ve spent the better part of the day today reviewing the photos from a recent session with the Cunningham family. ¬†I spent some time with them in their home about a week ago, and I did a quick – well, really, really quick – pass for them the day after. ¬†I honestly hadn’t looked at them since. ¬†Today? ¬†Well, after review, I can honestly say that I have never yet felt in the Christmas spirit, until NOW. ¬†After spending some quality time with their photos, I’m super excited about Christmas! ¬†You see, it’s their first child’s first Christmas this year, and Brandi and Tyler were definitely prepared to capture that memory! ¬†I have so many samples to share with you today, because I simply couldn’t choose my favorites! ¬†Check out the Cunningham’s gallery at to see what I mean. ¬†Enjoy!

If you’re a Facebook fan, then you’ve already seen the above photo. ¬†I just couldn’t help but share it again! ¬†If you’re not a Facebook fan…what are you waiting for?? ¬†Go HERE and LIKE my page so that you can see photos like the cuteness above FIRST!

This post deserves one word: FINALLY! A HUGE thanks to the Ostrowski family for letting me get a bit caught up before posting their session. Thank you, thank you, thank you! They recently had a family session at the Sylvania Historical Village-which I’m ashamed to admit, I didn’t know was as cool as it seriously is. I live here. I had no idea that they had train cars, and tracks, and gazebos, etc. etc. etc.! We had a blast climbing and posing and cheese-ing. ūüôā Here are just a few samples from their session:

Downtown Sylvania – not the historical village, but a great family shot…couldn’t leave this one out!

Recently, I did a short photo shoot for a marketing video at Reve Salon and Spa. ¬†If you’re not familiar, Reve is located in downtown Sylvania, in a historic building on Main Street. ¬†It’s a beautiful building, brimming with talent! ¬†I’ve mentioned my stylist, Renee Iuele, on this blog before, but I’m mentioning her again because she’s just that awesome! ¬†(Need a new stylist? ¬†Call Reve and request Renee Iuele – 419-885-1140.)

Renee actually coordinated my shoot at Reve for the day after Thanksgiving – it was their customer appreciation day, and what woman wouldn’t die for a bit of pampering after hitting the stores on the busiest shopping day of the year?!? ¬†It was packed with people, so I was able to catch a lot of action shots! ¬†Here are a few of my faves:

Carmen Wigmans, Owner

Renee Iuele, Master Sylist & Educator

Meet Kyrsten. ¬†Well, if you’ve followed my blog long enough, you’ve actually met Kyrsten before. ¬†Kyrsten is Jason’s cousin. ¬†And I don’t feel OLD at ALL taking her senior pictures. ¬†Not at all…considering she was either 4 or 5 when she was the flower girl in our wedding. (!) ¬†The years have passed too quickly, but Kyrsten has grown into a very, very beautiful young woman. ¬†I might be biased, but just look for yourself and I think you’ll agree!

See what I mean? ¬†Beautiful…well, more like gorgeous! ¬†We had a frightfully cold day at Pearson Park and at her old elementary school – but we were able to find places to block the wind. ¬†I even let Kyrsten put her sweatshirt on in between poses. ¬†I know, I’m super nice! ¬†I might be just a tad more bossy with family than with others. ūüėČ ¬†Kyrsten didn’t mind, though – who would have a care in the world in super fierce shoes like these:

We may have trespassed a teensie little bit to capture the next couple (but I’ll never admit to it – but it was soooo worth it!):

Yes, if you are a Facebook follower, you already know that there was a paint war involved at the end of Kyrsten’s session. ¬†I’m being 100% serious when I say that I stayed far, far away. ¬†She swore that it was washable, and even showed me the Crayola squeeze bottles to prove it. ¬†What can I say? ¬†I’m chicken. ¬†To watch the paint war unfold, check out Kyrsten’s session video, below. ¬†Don’t forget to sneak a peek at Kyrsten’s full gallery at, too. ¬†Thanks for stopping by!
